Artist Commentary

My father described me as a bike wheel in progress, going out one spoke to the very end and back again and off onto another spoke. “Now, other people,” he said “search for that one pebble that when cast ripples forth and they get it all”. He told me I was most definitely a “spokes” person and I understood this wasn’t what most would think it meant.

One day and about 15 years ago, a friend said “you’re an artist." I was unsprung and in the releasing of self have been mentored, critiqued, taught and tweaked. The bike wheel now spins around and around.

I fashion movement and the interaction with oneself. Through art I am attempting to show a performance of an internal dialogue. This dialogue comprises a twist of the abstract with mindful feelings, the ability to listen to yourself in your relationship with self and with others.
