Artist Statement

My interests lie in revealing moments of interaction; small epiphanies. These happenings are composed of color, brush stroke, light, and line. I paint portraits from the outside or within, of matter that has been layered, jumbled, reassembled, and inhabited. I use bright circus-like colors and incorporate collage from a variety
of sources to further investigate space. Painted surfaces of atmosphere hug and contain shapes and figures. I'm attracted to juicy shiny strokes, and seduced by feathered light and color intermingling with one another.
